Fueling Feminist
Entrepreneurship
Partner Spotlight:
Flaunt It Movement
Toronto, Ontario
Flaunt It offers creative co-working space and
studios where young entrepreneurs can build
their skills and portfolios work in photography,
videography, design, beauty services, and
more. It seeks to empower racialized women
and gender-diverse people through inclusive
training programs, mentorship and communitybuilding opportunities.
We’ve created these tools to support the
growth of feminist entrepreneurship across
Canada:
What if business could look different? What
if it was rooted in care, fairness, and equity?
Feminist entrepreneurship does just that
by putting people and the planet first. It
challenges harmful systems and redefines
what success looks like.
With funding from the Government of
Canada’s Women’s Entrepreneurship
Strategy, and in partnership with seven
organizations across the country, we’re
helping people build businesses that reflect
their values and their communities.
“Since my time in the Flaunt It internship,
I’ve continued building my photography
portfolio while pursuing a university degree.
One of my dreams is becoming a sports
photographer, maybe for the NBA since I
grew up playing basketball. Social justice is
also really important to me and I’m working
on launching a non-profit to mentor youth
in my community. I had strong mentors in
my life and I want the same thing for other
young people.”
