EMPOWERING GIRLS
AND YOUTH
Girls and young people deserve to feel confident,
connected, equipped to pursue healthy
relationships, and pursue their full potential.
But mental health concerns are on the rise,
particularly among girls and gender nonconforming youth.
Your generosity fuels programming for girls and
youth that fosters self-esteem, resilience, and
healthy relationships skills at a critical time in their
lives. And they work: 98 per cent of girls’ program
participants report increased empowerment and
pride in their gender.

“In one of our projects,
the girls build robots
from kits and then
program them to move
around, make sounds,
and play games. Coding
can be tricky, so it’s
great to see participants
overcome those
challenges together and
succeed … I’m proud to
be part of an initiative
that’s breaking down
barriers and opening
doors for girls in STEM.”
- Renna Kelly, Instructor, Girls Can
In the Girls Can program, girls and genderdiverse young people explore STEM
activities and career paths in a friendly
environment that promotes teamwork and
leadership skills.
