Dear Friends and Supporters,
It is hard to keep our eyes away
from the news in today’s climate.
Words like ‘femicide,’ ‘artificial
intelligence,’ and ‘economic
crisis’ appear all too frequently in
headlines. This year’s International
Women’s Day celebrations took
place against the backdrop of an
increasingly uncertain world.
Moments like this test our hope.
They also strengthen our purpose.

Each day, the Canadian Women’s
Foundation works to support
women, girls, and gender-diverse
people. We tackle longstanding
issues like gender-based violence
by teaching young people early
on what healthy relationships
look like. We invest in research
to better understand the
impact of artificial intelligence
on marginalized people. We
empower women and genderdiverse people to participate more
fully in the economy through skills
training and entrepreneurship.

our work, and supporters who
make it all possible. In the
coming pages, you will see
some of these highlights. I also
attended the 70th session of the
United Nations Commission on
the Status of Women (UNCSW),
where I convened with fellow
Canadian organizations, and
met peers supporting women,
girls, and gender-diverse
people internationally. These
experiences were powerful
reminders that we are not alone.
The issues are real, and we see
them on our newsfeeds every day.
But solutions are possible.
Despite the tough headlines, I
have faith in the future because
I know we are actively shaping it
here in Canada — thanks to your
support and your belief in our
work.
